Why We Worship

As worship leader at Faith Christian Church, I often get asked, “Why do we worship?”  The word “worship” can be such a church-y term, and often is hard to understand for many people - even those that have attended church all their lives.  At the very basic level, what it really means to worship is to adore and honor something.  So when we worship during a church service, we are setting aside time to use music to adore and honor God.

We believe that it is essential to the christian walk to worship God with our singing, music, and songs.  While worship should be a part of every area of our lives, we get to set aside part of our normal church service each week to worship together with other Christians.

Psalm 95:6-7 says “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!  For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.”  We adore and honor God through our church service with songs, because when we encounter God in a true and real way, our life changes.  When our life changes, we can’t help but worship the God who has given us hope for the future.

So what can you expect from our church service?  At Faith Christian Church, we sing contemporary and modern worship music, and have a full band that plays every week.  We have so many talented musicians and vocalists and it is a joy to see people using their gifts to create beautiful music that worships our King.  The music we sing always has the message of Jesus’ death and resurrection at the center, is joyful and upbeat, and we love incorporating traditional hymns in a new and contemporary way.

If you don't have a church that you call home, will you consider joining us? We'd love to meet you and have you become involved in what God is doing here and get plugged into a life of worship.
